Why I Built The Cyber Sensei Platform

After decades spanning corporate vulnerability analysis to national-level curriculum design, I realized one undeniable fact. The difference between a victim and a defender is not about knowing how to code. It is about how you think. I built this platform to cut through the jargon and give everyday people the mindset to navigate the digital world with total confidence.

From Enterprise Defense to Everyday Empowerment

I started my career analyzing system vulnerabilities for corporations like Oracle and Dell. While I was busy securing enterprise servers, I noticed a massive gap. The worst cyber threats were not aimed at billion-dollar companies. They were targeting everyday people and small businesses who did not have an IT department to save them.

That realization changed my path. I traded corporate security for a high school classroom.

I taught teenagers how to ethically defend their digital lives. We focused on practical application over abstract theory. Earning Teacher of the Year awards was great, but the real reward was watching my students graduate with half a dozen industry certifications. That experience cemented my core teaching philosophy: Learn once, apply many times.

Today, as the Head of Cyber & AI Education at Work ED, I build national programs to train the next generation of digital defenders. I coach top talent for the U.S. Cyber Games and lead teams using open-source intelligence to help law enforcement locate missing persons. I am also currently focused on the Presidential AI Challenge to figure out how we ethically teach and govern artificial intelligence in our communities.

I write to make these complex topics accessible to everyone. My first book, Teaching Cyber, closes the gap between academic theory and industry reality. My upcoming book, They Hack Minds, breaks down the psychology behind modern scams.

Through The Cyber Sensei, my mission is simple. I translate enterprise-grade cybersecurity into practical wisdom. The digital world changes every day. With the right mindset, you can face it with total confidence.
